June : In our vineyards…

As from June the vintage, which is taking shape, looks promising. The clusters are now well formed; the vegetation grows rapidly. The growth rate can reach several centimeters per day, as the vine is a liana belonging to the ampelopsis species. It is necessary to perform a first tying up. It consists in raising the canes and maintaining them in upright position using both lifting wires. The hedging also called trimming follows the tying-up. Trimming off the vineyard enables to keep the vegetation rate of growth under control and to ensure good ventilation of the canopy and faster drying in case of rain.
